Katniss Everdeen is the protagonist of The Hunger Games film series, adapted from Suzanne Collins' novels. Born in the impoverished District 12 of Panem, a dystopian nation built on the ruins of North America, Katniss lives a hardscrabble life as a hunter after her father's death in a mining accident.
