Louie is a fictional orangutan character created by Disney, most famously appearing in the 1967 animated film The Jungle Book. He is the self-proclaimed king of the Bandar-log, a boisterous and mischievous group of monkeys living in the ruins of an ancient temple.
Louie desires to be human and desperately wants to learn the secret of fire. He believes Mowgli, the man-cub, holds the key to this knowledge and attempts to coerce him into revealing how to create fire.
