Baby Groot is a fictional character appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), based on the character Groot from Marvel Comics. He is introduced in the film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as a sapling-like being, a smaller, younger version of the original Groot who sacrificed himself in the first film.
Unlike his predecessor, Baby Groot is characterized by his childlike innocence and mischievous behavior. He is often seen dancing, playing games, and generally causing minor chaos. His vocabulary is limited to variations of the phrase "I am Groot," which his companions can understand based on context and intonation.
Baby Groot grows into Teenage Groot by Avengers: Infinity War, displaying typical adolescent traits such as moodiness and a preoccupation with video games.
