Firelord, originally known as Pyreus Kril, is a fictional character appearing in Marvel Comics. He began his career as a starship captain in the Lanlakian fleet.
Kril's life took a dramatic turn when he volunteered to become the new herald of Galactus, replacing Nova. He sought the power to navigate faster through space, hoping to reunite with his lost crew. Galactus imbued him with the Power Cosmic, transforming him into Firelord.
As Firelord, he served Galactus, seeking out planets for the entity to consume. He wields a cosmic staff and possesses vast cosmic power, including manipulation of fire and energy. His fiery appearance is a visual manifestation of his connection to the Power Cosmic.
Firelord eventually grew disillusioned with his role and rebelled against Galactus. He has since operated independently, sometimes as a hero, sometimes as a force to be reckoned with, battling various cosmic entities and Earth-based heroes.
