Biography:
Danny Rand, portrayed in the Netflix Marvel series as the Iron Fist, is a martial arts expert and billionaire heir who returns to New York City after a fifteen-year absence. Following the death of his parents in a plane crash in the Himalayas, Danny was rescued by monks from the mystical city of K'un-Lun.
In K'un-Lun, Danny trained rigorously in martial arts, eventually earning the right to challenge Shou-Lao the Undying, a dragon. By defeating Shou-Lao, Danny absorbed the dragon's chi and gained the power of the Iron Fist, allowing him to focus his chi into his fist for superhuman strength and durability.
Upon his return to New York, Danny struggles to reclaim his family company, Rand Enterprises, while confronting the criminal underworld. He battles the Hand, a ninja organization with ties to K'un-Lun, and grapples with the responsibilities that come with his power and destiny as the Iron Fist, protector of K'un-Lun.
