The Iron Patriot is a character appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily associated with Iron Man and the Avengers. While resembling Iron Man in his design, he is often distinct in his motivations and allegiance.
The most well-known incarnation of the Iron Patriot armor is worn by Norman Osborn, formerly the Green Goblin. Following the Skrull invasion in the "Secret Invasion" storyline, Osborn gained public favor and replaced Tony Stark as the head of national security. He then repurposed the Iron Man technology into the Iron Patriot suit, adopting the persona of a patriotic hero.
