Ashley Joanna "Ash" Williams is a fictional character originating from the Evil Dead horror franchise. Created by Sam Raimi, Ash is portrayed by Bruce Campbell throughout the series.

Initially a simple S-Mart housewares employee, Ash's life takes a terrifying turn when he and his friends stumble upon the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, the "Book of the Dead," during a vacation to a secluded cabin in the woods.

The book unleashes demonic forces, turning Ash's companions into monstrous "Deadites." He is forced to fight for survival, evolving from a reluctant victim into a chainsaw-wielding, boomstick-toting, wise-cracking hero. The repeated horrors leave him traumatized but also hardened, developing a cynical, often sarcastic, and resourceful persona.
