Zan is one half of the Wonder Twins, a pair of extraterrestrial siblings from the planet Exxor who are superheroes in the DC Universe. He is often seen alongside his sister, Jayna, and their pet monkey, Gleek.
Zan's primary power is the ability to transform into any form of water, whether it be liquid, solid (ice), or gaseous (steam). He can manipulate his form to become a stream of water, a giant ice golem, or even a localized cloud of steam. He must mentally picture the desired water form to activate his power.
To activate their powers, both Zan and Jayna must make physical contact and speak the phrase "Wonder Twin powers, activate!" This is a vital component of their abilities. Without Jayna's transformation, Zan cannot access his. They are often portrayed as somewhat naive and inexperienced heroes, learning and growing throughout their adventures.
The Wonder Twins debuted in the animated television series *The All-New Super Friends Hour* in 1977 and were later integrated into DC Comics continuity. They have appeared in various comic books, animated series, and other media adaptations, sometimes portrayed with more serious undertones compared to their initially lighthearted depiction.
