Jar Jar Binks is a fictional character from the Star Wars prequel trilogy, introduced in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. He is a Gungan, a species of amphibious humanoid natives of the planet Naboo.

Binks was exiled from his home city of Otoh Gunga due to his clumsiness and tendency to cause accidents. He encounters Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, eventually guiding them to Otoh Gunga.

Following his banishment, Jar Jar reluctantly accompanies the Jedi and Padme Amidala on their journey, providing comic relief and assisting them in navigating the underwater world of Naboo. He is instrumental in uniting the Gungans and the Naboo people against the Trade Federation's invasion.

Later, in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, Jar Jar Binks becomes a Junior Representative for Naboo in the Galactic Senate and makes a proposal allowing Supreme Chancellor Palpatine emergency powers, inadvertently facilitating Palpatine's rise to Emperor.
