Star Wars

Kyle Katarn, a prominent figure in the Star Wars Expanded Universe (now Legends), began his career as an Imperial officer. Disillusioned by the Empire's cruelty, particularly their involvement in his father's death, he defected and became a mercenary for the Rebel Alliance.

Katarn's skills in combat and espionage quickly made him a valuable asset. He played a key role in acquiring the Death Star plans, a mission often attributed solely to Princess Leia in the film A New Hope within the original continuity. He also undertook numerous other crucial missions for the Rebellion and, later, the New Republic.

After the Galactic Civil War, Katarn's connection to the Force deepened. Initially hesitant to embrace his abilities, he eventually trained as a Jedi under Luke Skywalker at the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin 4. He became a powerful Jedi Knight, battling remnants of the Empire and facing new threats to the galaxy, including the Dark Jedi Desann.

Known for his pragmatic approach and military experience, Kyle Katarn stood apart from many other Jedi. He was a skilled pilot, marksman, and close-quarters combatant, combining his tactical expertise with Force abilities to protect the galaxy. While no longer canon, his character remains a fan favorite within the Star Wars legacy.
