C-3PO, often referred to simply as Threepio, is a protocol droid from the Star Wars franchise.

He was constructed by Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine from salvaged parts. His primary function is to assist with etiquette, customs, and translation, fluent in over six million forms of communication.

Throughout the Skywalker Saga, C-3PO frequently accompanies his counterpart, the astromech droid R2-D2, and often finds himself embroiled in galactic conflicts. His personality is characterized by anxiety, meticulousness, and a formal demeanor, often contrasting with the more adventurous spirit of R2-D2.

C-3PO's memory has been wiped on several occasions, leading to temporary amnesia. Despite his frequent protestations and worries, he remains a loyal and steadfast companion to the Skywalker family and the Rebel Alliance/Resistance.
