Android 17, also known as Lapis before his modification, is a prominent character in the Dragon Ball franchise. He was originally a human, a delinquent teenager, abducted and forcibly converted into a cyborg by Dr. Gero, a scientist seeking revenge against Goku.
Initially, Android 17 is portrayed as a cold and rebellious individual, primarily focused on killing Goku and proving his superiority. Along with his twin sister, Android 18, and Android 16, he terrorizes Earth in an alternate timeline, decimating much of the population.
However, after being absorbed by Cell to achieve his Perfect Form, Android 17 is eventually revived by the Dragon Balls.
