The Trickster is the alias of two primary characters in the DC Comics universe: James Jesse and Axel Walker. James Jesse, the original Trickster, was a circus performer known for his trick shoes and expertise in practical jokes turned criminal.

Driven by a desire for chaos and attention, Jesse used his gadgets and comedic antics to plague Central City, primarily as an adversary of the Flash (Barry Allen). He possesses no inherent superpowers, relying instead on his inventive devices and mischievous personality.

After initially being a villain, Jesse eventually reformed and even aided the Flash on occasion. He became involved in law enforcement and even joined the FBI. After Jesse's death, Axel Walker, a younger criminal, claimed the Trickster mantle. Walker's version was often portrayed as more violent and less whimsical than his predecessor, continuing the legacy of chaotic crime.

Both Tricksters are known for their flamboyant personalities, elaborate schemes, and dedication to causing mayhem through seemingly harmless pranks that often conceal more sinister intentions.
