Biography:
General Zod, born Dru-Zod on Krypton, was a military leader and scientist consumed by his planet's survival. Dedicated to preserving Kryptonian civilization, he believed drastic measures were necessary, even resorting to a coup against the ruling council.
His attempted rebellion, motivated by his fear of Krypton's impending destruction, failed, leading to his imprisonment in the Phantom Zone alongside his loyal soldiers. His sentence was imposed by Jor-El, who foresaw Krypton's fate and opposed Zod's methods.
Released from the Phantom Zone after Krypton's destruction, Zod arrived on Earth, seeking to terraform the planet into a new Krypton, eliminating humanity in the process. He saw Superman, Jor-El's son Kal-El, as an obstacle to his plan and his betrayer.
Determined to fulfill his mission, Zod clashed violently with Superman, their battle devastating Metropolis. Unable to defeat Superman and unwilling to return to the Phantom Zone, Zod forced Superman to make an impossible choice: kill him or allow Zod to destroy humanity. Ultimately, Superman was forced to kill Zod, ending his threat but deeply affecting him.
