John Rambo is a fictional character primarily known from the series of action films beginning with "First Blood" (1982). Created by author David Morrell for his novel, Rambo is a troubled Vietnam War veteran struggling to readjust to civilian life.

A former Green Beret and highly skilled in various forms of combat, survival, and weaponry, Rambo is often depicted as a solitary figure haunted by his wartime experiences and the prejudice he faces upon returning home. He's frequently portrayed as a victim of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
