Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody was a highly respected and famously paranoid Auror, known for his unparalleled skills in tracking down Dark wizards during the First Wizarding War. His reputation preceded him, marked by numerous scars and the distinctive magical eye that replaced the one he lost in battle, granting him the ability to see through walls and behind him.
In 1994, Moody was supposed to take on the role of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, he was ambushed and imprisoned by Barty Crouch Jr., who used Polyjuice Potion to impersonate him for the entire school year. During this time, Crouch Jr., disguised as Moody, manipulated events to ensure Harry Potter's entry into and victory in the Triwizard Tournament, leading to Voldemort's return.
After being rescued from his captivity, the real Moody became a valuable member of the Order of the Phoenix, continuing his fight against Voldemort and his Death Eaters. His expertise and experience were crucial in protecting Harry and confronting the rising darkness. Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody was ultimately killed during the Battle of the Seven Potters, sacrificing himself to protect Harry from Voldemort's forces.
