The Eradicator is a DC Comics character with a complex history, most notably associated with Superman. He originated as a weapon created on Krypton, designed to preserve Kryptonian culture by eradicating foreign influences. This weapon took various forms over time, initially appearing as a device.

The Eradicator's essence eventually merged with a human scientist, Dr. David Connor, giving it a physical form. In this guise, the Eradicator viewed Superman as a flawed guardian of Krypton's legacy, often acting as a violent enforcer of his twisted interpretation of Kryptonian law. He possessed immense strength, speed, and energy projection abilities.

Over time, the Eradicator's programming and motivations evolved. He briefly assumed Superman's mantle after Superman's supposed death at the hands of Doomsday, adopting a more heroic persona (though still ruthless). He eventually sacrificed himself to save Superman and Metropolis. Later incarnations and resurrections have shown the Eradicator wrestling with his programming and often acting as an anti-hero, albeit one still driven by his Kryptonian origins.
