Thaal Sinestro, hailing from the planet Korugar, is a prominent character in DC Comics, most notably associated with the Green Lantern Corps and his own Sinestro Corps.

Initially, Sinestro was considered the greatest of all Green Lanterns, a meticulous and powerful warrior who brought order to his sector. He was Hal Jordan's mentor and a symbol of Lantern ideals. However, his methods were authoritarian, ruling Korugar with an iron fist, believing fear was the only way to maintain control.

His true nature was eventually exposed, leading to his expulsion from the Green Lantern Corps. Fueled by rage and a desire for control, he forged a yellow power ring powered by fear, becoming a central antagonist to the Green Lanterns.

Sinestro established the Sinestro Corps, recruiting beings from across the universe who instilled great fear. He consistently seeks to impose his vision of order, often through violent means, putting him at odds with the Green Lanterns and other heroes.
