Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, is a central figure in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Born to Atlanna, the Queen of Atlantis, and Thomas Curry, a lighthouse keeper, Arthur is a hybrid, possessing both Atlantean and human physiology. He was raised primarily by his father, unaware of his Atlantean heritage until Atlanna's advisor, Vulko, began training him in secret.

Arthur initially rejected his Atlantean destiny, preferring a solitary life. He surfaced occasionally to help those in need, earning him the moniker "Aquaman." However, he's drawn into the larger world of metahumans and global threats, joining the Justice League to combat Steppenwolf's invasion.

Later, Arthur is compelled to confront his half-brother, King Orm, who seeks to wage war on the surface world. He embraces his birthright, claiming the throne of Atlantis and becoming a protector of both the oceans and the surface world. Aquaman possesses superhuman strength, speed, durability, and the ability to breathe underwater and communicate with marine life.
