Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Donatello, often referred to as Don or Donnie, is one of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He is distinguished by his purple bandana and his favored weapon, the bo staff.

Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, Donatello first appeared in the comic book Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 in 1984. Like his brothers, he was mutated into a humanoid turtle by exposure to radioactive ooze.

Donatello is the brains of the group. He is a brilliant scientist, inventor, engineer, and technologist. He is responsible for many of the Turtles' gadgets, vehicles, and their sewer lair's technological advancements. While skilled in ninjutsu, Donatello prefers to use his intellect to solve problems and avoid physical confrontation.

He represents the Renaissance artist Donatello, sharing his name with the sculptor. Donatello is often portrayed as the most peaceful and thoughtful of the Turtles, dedicated to learning and innovation.
