Jack Morrison, known to the world as Soldier: 76, is a vigilante and former leader of Overwatch. Before his current moniker, he was a decorated soldier and hailed as an American hero.
Morrison's military career saw him rise through the ranks, eventually leading the experimental Overwatch program, a multinational task force dedicated to peacekeeping. Under his command, Overwatch brought an end to the Omnic Crisis, solidifying his reputation.
Following Overwatch's dissolution due to accusations of corruption and internal conflict, Morrison was believed to have been killed in an explosion at Overwatch headquarters alongside Gabriel Reyes (Reaper). Armed with advanced weaponry and enhanced physical abilities likely a result of the Soldier Enhancement Program, Soldier: 76 operates outside the law, dispensing his own brand of justice.
