Ronin is a vigilante persona adopted by Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
After Thanos eliminated half of all life in the universe during the events of Avengers: Infinity War, including Barton's entire family, Barton became consumed by grief and rage.
Disillusioned with the Avengers' code of honor, he shed his Hawkeye identity and adopted the mantle of Ronin, a ruthless and lethal vigilante. Operating primarily in Japan, Ronin targeted organized crime syndicates and individuals he deemed deserving of death, delivering his own form of justice.
His violent activities eventually caught the attention of other powerful forces, leading to confrontations and his eventual return to the Avengers. He discarded the Ronin identity and reconciled with his past, ultimately helping to defeat Thanos and restore his family.
