Dr. Curtis Connors, known as The Lizard, is a complex Marvel Comics character. A brilliant geneticist and war veteran who lost his right arm, Connors dedicated his life to finding a way to regenerate limbs. His research led him to reptilian DNA, believing lizards held the key to unlocking this process.
Against his better judgment, Connors experimented on himself. While his arm did regenerate, the experiment had a far more drastic and horrifying side effect: Connors transformed into a reptilian humanoid, a monstrous creature known as the Lizard.
As the Lizard, Connors possesses superhuman strength, speed, and agility. He can scale walls, withstand extreme temperatures, and has a powerful tail he can use as a weapon. His intellect diminishes in this form, often driven by primal instincts to survive and dominate.
Despite numerous attempts to cure himself, Connors remains plagued by the Lizard persona, constantly battling his transformation. He is often depicted as both a victim of his own scientific hubris and a threat to society, making him a tragic figure within the Spider-Man mythos.
