Annie January, known professionally as Starlight, is a prominent character in the television series The Boys, adapted from the comic book of the same name. She is a superhero with the power of photokinesis, able to generate and manipulate light.

Growing up in a religiously devout household, Annie was groomed to be a superhero from a young age. Her selection as a member of The Seven, Vought International's premier superhero team, marked a significant turning point in her life.

Initially idealistic and eager to serve as a symbol of hope, Starlight quickly becomes disillusioned by the corruption, commercialization, and moral depravity prevalent within The Seven and Vought. This realization leads her to secretly collaborate with The Boys, a group dedicated to exposing and dismantling the corrupt superhero industry.

Throughout the series, Starlight navigates complex relationships, battles personal demons, and struggles to reconcile her desire to do good with the harsh realities of the superhero world. She is portrayed as a symbol of hope and resistance against corporate greed and the abuse of power.
