Argus Filch is the caretaker of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter series. He first appears in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
Filch is a Squib, meaning he was born into a wizarding family but has no magical abilities himself. This contributes to his sour demeanor and resentment towards the students at Hogwarts, whom he often catches breaking rules.
