Red Hood is a complex anti-hero character in DC Comics, most famously associated with the Batman mythos. He is the alter ego of Jason Todd, the second character to take on the mantle of Robin, Batman's sidekick.
Jason Todd's Robin was tragically killed by the Joker in the landmark storyline, "A Death in the Family." This event deeply impacted Batman and left a lasting scar on the DC Universe.
Years later, Jason was resurrected (due to reality altering events), but returned a changed man. Embittered by Batman's failure to avenge his death and disillusioned with Batman's code against killing, Jason took on the identity of the Red Hood, adopting a violent and lethal approach to fighting crime.
As Red Hood, Jason operates outside the law, often clashing with Batman and his allies. He struggles with his anger, his past trauma, and his complicated relationship with his former mentor, creating a morally grey character who challenges Batman's methods and ideology.
