Gunther, portrayed by James Michael Tyler, is a recurring character on the popular television sitcom, Friends. He is the deadpan manager and barista at Central Perk, the coffee shop frequented by the main six characters.

Gunther's defining characteristic is his unrequited and often unspoken infatuation with Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston). This love manifests in subtle acts of kindness towards her, as well as jealousy towards anyone who shows her romantic attention. He is often seen glaring at Ross Geller, Rachel's primary love interest.

Despite being a frequent presence, Gunther's dialogue is surprisingly sparse throughout the series. His brief, often sarcastic, remarks are a source of comedic relief. While not part of the core group, Gunther became a beloved part of the show's ensemble, known for his signature bleached-blond hair and quiet observations.
