Illyana Rasputina, better known as Magik, is a mutant and sorceress within the Marvel Universe. A member of the X-Men, she is the younger sister of Colossus. Her mutant ability is teleportation, specifically via stepping discs that transport her through Limbo, a demonic dimension she partially rules.
Illyana's childhood was marked by her abduction and imprisonment in Limbo, where she was raised by the demon Belasco. During her time there, her soul was corrupted, and she learned powerful sorcery. She also acquired the Soulsword, a weapon of immense power formed from a piece of her soul. Her New Mutants appearance is because she de-aged to a child when traveling from Limbo to Earth.
Magik is known for her complex and often morally ambiguous choices. Her time in Limbo shaped her into a formidable warrior with a pragmatic approach to conflict. While loyal to the X-Men and her brother, she remains a volatile force due to the lingering influence of Limbo and the power she wields. She is sometimes the leader of a team of New Mutants.
