Vision is an artificial being, or "Synthezoid," created by Ultron in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Originally intended as a host body for Ultron's consciousness, Vision was ultimately seized and imbued with the combined power of the Mind Stone and the programming of both Ultron and J.A.R.V.I.S., Tony Stark's AI assistant.
Emerging as a powerful and philosophical hero, Vision allied himself with the Avengers. He possessed superhuman strength, speed, and the ability to manipulate his density, allowing him to become intangible or incredibly dense. The Mind Stone embedded in his forehead granted him energy projection capabilities and vast intellectual capacity.
Vision developed a complex relationship with Wanda Maximoff, also known as Scarlet Witch. Their connection deepened, culminating in a romantic relationship. Tragically, Vision was ultimately destroyed by Thanos, who sought to retrieve the Mind Stone to complete the Infinity Gauntlet. The Scarlet Witch was forced to destroy Vision and the Mind Stone, and was unable to prevent Thanos from reversing this event.
Though Vision died, he returned in the WandaVision Disney+ series as a construct of Wanda's grief. A rebuilt White Vision also appeared, eventually regaining Vision's memories. His current fate remains uncertain, after departing to reconcile himself with his regained identity.
