Biography:
President Scroob is a fictional character from Mel Brooks' 1987 comedic film, Spaceballs. He is the inept and corrupt President of the planet Spaceball.
Scroob is portrayed as greedy and power-hungry, willing to go to extreme lengths, even kidnapping, to acquire the fresh air of the planet Druidia. He is driven by the depletion of Spaceball's atmosphere due to wasteful consumption and excessive usage of "Perri-Air" by the citizens of Spaceball.
Played by Mel Brooks himself, Scroob embodies many of the tropes associated with political satire, including incompetence, vanity, and a willingness to abuse his authority for personal gain and the (misguided) benefit of his planet. He is ultimately foiled in his plans by Lone Starr and Barf.
While a relatively minor character, Scroob is a memorable figure due to his absurd behavior and Brooks' comedic performance, serving as a humorous critique of political leadership and environmental irresponsibility.
