The Creeper is a DC Comics superhero alter ego of television reporter Jack Ryder. Ryder gains his bizarre, demonic appearance and enhanced abilities after being injected with a serum and exposed to a strobe light device created by Dr. Yatz, designed to create super-soldiers.
Driven by a combination of the serum and residual effects of the device, Ryder can transform at will into the Creeper, a figure with green skin, red fur trim, bright yellow eyes, and clawed hands and feet. He possesses superhuman strength, speed, agility, and a healing factor.
The Creeper’s personality is erratic and often unpredictable, characterized by manic laughter and flamboyant behavior, making him a complex and sometimes unreliable hero. He often struggles to control the transformation and maintain his normal life as Jack Ryder.
Though originally a Batman antagonist, the Creeper evolved into a more heroic figure, occasionally teaming up with other heroes against common threats. His origin and powers have been tweaked in various DC storylines over the years, but his core characteristics remain consistent.
