Felix Platypus is a minor but memorable character in the Asterix comic book series. He is introduced in the album "Asterix in Switzerland."
Platypus is a Quaestor serving under the corrupt Governor Gracchus Cepahlus in Condatum (Condé-sur-l'Escaut). He is tasked with finding a safe means of transporting a poisoned cup of wine to Switzerland, intended to incriminate a respected Helvetian official.
He is depicted as somewhat bumbling and easily swayed. Asterix and Obelix, initially searching for edelweiss, are able to trick him into believing they are experienced carriers. They subsequently intercept the wine and unwittingly transport it to Switzerland themselves, ultimately foiling the Governor's plot.
Although his role is relatively small, Felix Platypus contributes to the adventure by providing the initial impetus for Asterix and Obelix's journey and illustrating the pervasive corruption within the Roman administration.
