Agent Venom is a Marvel Comics character who is typically associated with Spider-Man. The original Venom symbiote bonded with Eddie Brock, but was later separated from him.
After serving in the Iraq War, Flash Thompson, Peter Parker's high school bully, lost his legs in combat. Seeking a way to continue serving his country, Thompson volunteered for Project Rebirth 2.0.
This project involved bonding him with the Venom symbiote, giving him enhanced abilities, including super strength, speed, and the ability to create symbiote constructs. However, he had to be carefully monitored, as prolonged exposure to the symbiote could result in it permanently bonding with him, leading to its more monstrous tendencies.
As Agent Venom, Thompson served as a government operative, undertaking dangerous missions. He later joined the Secret Avengers and the Thunderbolts. Despite his violent tendencies, Flash Thompson ultimately sought to use the symbiote for good, becoming a genuine hero.
