Biography:
Garindan, also known as Long Snoot, is an informant from the planet Tatooine. He appears briefly in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, in the Mos Eisley Cantina.
He is a Kubaz, a species known for their long snouts and large, multifaceted eyes. Garindan is typically depicted as wearing a distinctive hooded cloak with a respirator.
In the film, Garindan alerts the Imperial Stormtroopers to the presence of Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the droids, R2-D2 and C-3PO, using a high-pitched, bat-like language. This action leads to a brief confrontation with the Stormtroopers.
While his screen time is minimal, Garindan has become a memorable, if somewhat enigmatic, background character within the Star Wars universe. He is often remembered for his role in exposing the heroes to the Empire in Mos Eisley.
