Shanna the She-Devil, created by Carole Seuling and George Tuska, debuted in Marvel Comics in 1972. Born Shanna O'Hara, she is a wildlife expert and adventurer with a deep connection to the jungle and its animals.
Raised in the Missouri Ozarks, Shanna witnessed the tragic death of her mother at the hands of a leopard, fueling her passion for animal protection. She became a skilled zoologist and found employment in a New York City zoo.
After an incident at the zoo, Shanna relocated to the Savage Land, a prehistoric jungle hidden in Antarctica. There, she found her true calling, fiercely protecting the ecosystem and its inhabitants from poachers and other threats. She developed a telepathic bond with the Savage Land's wildlife, particularly with her loyal leopard companion, Zabu.
