Johnny Silverhand, born Robert John Linder, is a central character in the Cyberpunk universe, most notably featured in the video game Cyberpunk 2077. He was a prominent anti-establishment rockerboy and combat veteran during the Second Central American War.

Silverhand rose to fame as the frontman of the band Samurai, whose music became anthems for rebellion and resistance against the oppressive corporate powers that dominated Night City. His lyrics often critiqued societal issues and championed individual freedom.

He was believed to have died in 2023 during an assault on Arasaka Tower, a pivotal event in the Cyberpunk timeline. However, his engram – a digitized copy of his consciousness – survived. In Cyberpunk 2077, this engram becomes embedded in the protagonist V's mind following a botched heist.

Throughout the game, Johnny Silverhand acts as a digital ghost or construct, interacting with V and influencing their decisions. His relationship with V is complex and often adversarial, yet ultimately essential to V's journey and the potential resolution of their shared predicament. Johnny is portrayed as rebellious, charismatic, flawed, and haunted by his past actions.
