Riri Williams, known as Ironheart, is a brilliant teenage engineering prodigy in the Marvel Universe. Created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato Jr., she first appeared in *Invincible Iron Man* Vol. 2 #7 in 2016.
Following the death of her father and best friend, Riri channelled her grief into academics, achieving genius-level intellect. At age 15, while attending MIT, she reverse-engineered Iron Man's armor design and built her own version in her dorm room.
Tony Stark became aware of Riri's accomplishment and sought her out, eventually becoming her mentor. He encouraged her to refine her suit and develop her own identity as a hero. She initially called herself Ironheart to represent her strength of heart, rejecting other names Stark suggested.
Since her introduction, Ironheart has become a significant figure in the Marvel Universe, working with various teams including the Champions and playing a crucial role in events like *Civil War II* and *Outlawed*. She continues to evolve her armor and develop her skills as a superhero, solidifying her place as a successor to Iron Man.
