Imperial Psykers in the Warhammer 40,000 universe are individuals born with psychic abilities, representing a dangerous and invaluable resource for the Imperium of Man. Due to the inherent risks of uncontrolled psychic powers attracting daemonic entities from the Warp, these individuals are rigorously screened by the Adeptus Astra Telepathica.

Those deemed stable and powerful enough are inducted into the Scholastica Psykana for intensive training. This training aims to hone their abilities, teach them to control their powers, and, most importantly, shield their minds from the predations of the Warp. Successfully trained Psykers become sanctioned psykers, vital assets for various Imperial organizations.

Sanctioned Psykers serve in numerous roles across the Imperium. Some become Astropaths, using their psychic abilities to transmit messages across vast interstellar distances. Others become Sanctioned Psykers, acting as advisors, warriors, and investigators for the Inquisition, Adeptus Arbites, and other agencies. Their powers can range from telepathy and telekinesis to precognition and the manipulation of energy, making them potent weapons against the enemies of mankind.

However, the life of an Imperial Psyker is one of constant vigilance. The lure of the Warp and the risk of possession are ever-present, demanding unwavering faith and rigorous mental discipline to avoid succumbing to corruption and becoming a threat to the very Imperium they serve.
