Rika Orimoto is a pivotal character in the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise. She is initially introduced as a special grade vengeful cursed spirit manifested from the love and trauma of Yuta Okkotsu, her childhood friend.

Prior to her transformation, Rika was a young girl who promised to marry Yuta when they grew up. Tragically, she died in a car accident right before Yuta's eyes. This overwhelming trauma and Yuta's subconscious rejection of her death caused Rika to become a powerful curse bound to him.

As a cursed spirit, Rika possessed immense power, capable of overwhelming even experienced jujutsu sorcerers. She was fiercely protective of Yuta, attacking anyone she perceived as a threat to him. Her power was so significant that Yuta was branded a dangerous individual by the jujutsu community.

Later in the series, Yuta learns to control Rika's power and utilize it for good. Through the events of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, the nature of Rika's curse is revealed, and the bond between her and Yuta undergoes significant changes, ultimately impacting Yuta's growth as a jujutsu sorcerer.
