The term "Hessian Light Infantry" doesn't refer to a specific individual, but rather to soldiers serving as light infantry within the regiments supplied to Great Britain by various German principalities, most notably Hesse-Kassel, during the American Revolutionary War.

These Hessian troops were not necessarily born in Hesse, but recruited from across German-speaking lands.
