Jan Dodonna was a General in the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. A seasoned military strategist, Dodonna played a crucial role in planning and executing key Rebel operations.

Prior to joining the Rebellion, Dodonna served in the Republic Navy, acquiring extensive knowledge of fleet tactics and weaponry. This experience proved invaluable to the fledgling Alliance, which was often outmatched by the Imperial Navy's superior resources.

Dodonna is best known for his command at the Yavin 4 base. He was instrumental in developing the strategy that allowed Luke Skywalker to destroy the Death Star, a pivotal victory for the Rebellion. He personally briefed the pilots before the attack, emphasizing the vulnerability in the Death Star's thermal exhaust port.

Although not a flashy figure, Dodonna's quiet competence and tactical acumen were essential to the Rebel Alliance's survival and eventual triumph over the Galactic Empire. He continued to serve the Rebel Alliance after the battle of Yavin.
