Biography:
Aurora, also known as Sleeping Beauty, is the titular protagonist of Disney's 1959 animated film, "Sleeping Beauty." She is a princess cursed by the evil fairy Maleficent as an infant, destined to prick her finger on a spinning wheel and die before sunset on her sixteenth birthday.
To protect her, three good fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, disguise themselves as peasant women and raise Aurora in a secluded forest cottage under the name Briar Rose. They lessen Maleficent's curse, changing it to a deep sleep that can only be broken by true love's kiss.
On her sixteenth birthday, Aurora discovers her true identity and pricks her finger, falling into the enchanted sleep. Prince Phillip, who she had previously met and fallen in love with in the forest, defeats Maleficent and awakens her with a kiss, fulfilling the prophecy and breaking the curse. They then live happily ever after.
