Biography:

Professor Quirinus Quirrell was the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during Harry Potter's first year. He was initially presented as a timid and nervous individual, known for his stutter and wearing a turban which he claimed was given to him by an African prince as gratitude for ridding him of a zombie.

However, Quirrell harbored a dark secret: he was possessed by Lord Voldemort. During a year-long sabbatical, he encountered Voldemort in Albania and was manipulated into becoming his host. Voldemort's weakened form resided on the back of Quirrell's head, concealed by the turban.

Under Voldemort's influence, Quirrell attempted to steal the Philosopher's Stone from Gringotts and later from Hogwarts. He faced Harry Potter in the final chamber protecting the stone, where his touch, due to the protection Harry had received from his mother's sacrifice, burned him. He ultimately perished when Voldemort abandoned his body.
