Gryffindor advocated for accepting students of all magical backgrounds, though his friendship with Salazar Slytherin fractured over the latter's insistence on blood purity. This disagreement ultimately led to Slytherin leaving the school.

He was a skilled duellist and wizard, possessing a distinctive sword, adorned with rubies, which later became a significant weapon in the fight against Voldemort. It could only be wielded by a "true Gryffindor," demonstrating great courage and worthiness.

The Sorting Hat, used to assign students to their respective houses, originally belonged to Godric Gryffindor, further solidifying his legacy and influence on Hogwarts even centuries after his death.
