Nico Robin is an archaeologist and historian who serves as the Straw Hat Pirates' intellectual powerhouse in the One Piece world. She is the sole survivor of Ohara, an island of scholars dedicated to uncovering the true history of the world, which was destroyed by the World Government due to its research into the forbidden Poneglyphs.

Labeled a demon and relentlessly pursued from a young age, Robin learned to rely on herself and often associated with criminals to survive. Her Devil Fruit power, the Hana Hana no Mi, allows her to replicate her body parts on any surface, granting her unique offensive and defensive capabilities. This ability also aids in deciphering ancient texts.

She initially joins Crocodile's Baroque Works organization, seeking to find and decipher the Poneglyph within Alabasta. After the Straw Hats defeat Crocodile, Robin finally finds a crew she can truly trust, joining their ranks. Her ultimate goal is to uncover the "True History" hidden within the Poneglyphs, a quest that constantly puts her and her crew at odds with the World Government.
