Okkotsu Yuta is the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and a prominent character in the main Jujutsu Kaisen series. Initially introduced as a cursed teenager haunted by the vengeful spirit of his childhood friend, Orimoto Rika, Yuta is enrolled at Tokyo Jujutsu High School under the tutelage of Gojo Satoru.

Yuta possesses immense cursed energy, rivaling and potentially surpassing even Gojo's. This power stems from Rika's curse and his own inherited abilities, linked to his distant relation to the Sugawara no Michizane, a powerful spirit also connected to Gojo Satoru. He wields this energy through his mastery of cursed techniques and his ability to copy the techniques of others.

Following the events of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta undergoes extensive training and becomes a skilled jujutsu sorcerer, earning the rank of Special Grade, one of the highest achievable ranks. He is often tasked with dangerous missions and acts as a mentor to younger students. His primary goal is to protect others and use his power to ensure no one else suffers the same fate he once did.
