The Wither is a formidable, player-summoned boss mob in Minecraft. It is a hostile, undead creature consisting of three black, skeletal heads atop a smoky body. The Wither is created by placing four blocks of Soul Sand or Soul Soil in a T-shape, then placing three Wither Skeleton Skulls on top.

Upon spawning, the Wither charges and grows, becoming invulnerable for a short time. Its primary attack involves launching explosive Wither Skulls at its target, inflicting the "Wither" status effect, which drains the target's health and replenishes the Wither's. It can also destroy most blocks it comes into contact with.

The Wither is considered one of the most challenging entities to defeat in Minecraft, requiring careful preparation and strategy. Upon death, it drops a Nether Star, a rare item used to craft a Beacon, a powerful structure that provides status effects to players within its range.
