Franky, also known as "Cyborg" Franky or "Iron Man" Franky, is the shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates. He is a cyborg whose body has been heavily modified with various weapons and contraptions.

Born Cutty Flam in the South Blue, Franky was orphaned at a young age and trained in shipbuilding by the legendary Tom, a Fish-Man shipwright who built the Oro Jackson for Gol D. Roger. Franky admired Tom and learned from his philosophy of building ships that fulfill dreams.

Tragically, Franky blamed himself for Tom's death after Spandam framed Tom's shipbuilders for an attack on a government ship. Overcome with grief and anger, Franky attempted to stop the Puffing Tom sea train carrying Tom to Enies Lobby and was gravely injured. To survive, he rebuilt himself using scrap metal, becoming a cyborg.

Initially an antagonist in the Water 7 Arc, Franky eventually joined the Straw Hats after they helped him overcome his past and inspired him to continue Tom's dream of building a ship that can conquer the Grand Line. He built the Thousand Sunny, the Straw Hats' current ship.

Franky is known for his eccentric personality, his love of cola as fuel, and his signature "SUPER!" pose. He is a powerful fighter, utilizing his cyborg enhancements to battle opponents, and he is a vital asset to the Straw Hat crew.
