The Lord of the Rings

Frodo Baggins, a hobbit of the Shire, is the central character in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Born to Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck, Frodo became an orphan at a young age and was adopted by his cousin, Bilbo Baggins, at Bag End.

Frodo's quiet life is upended when Bilbo departs the Shire, leaving him the One Ring. Gandalf the Grey reveals the Ring's dark nature and its corrupting influence, urging Frodo to take it to Rivendell for safekeeping. This journey marks the beginning of Frodo's quest to destroy the Ring in the fires of Mount Doom.

Throughout his journey, Frodo is aided by the Fellowship of the Ring, a group of companions dedicated to his protection. He relies particularly on Samwise Gamgee, whose loyalty and perseverance are crucial to Frodo's survival and mission. The Ring's power gradually weighs on Frodo, both physically and mentally, challenging his resolve.

Despite facing immense hardship and temptation, Frodo ultimately reaches Mount Doom. While he falters at the final moment, Gollum inadvertently destroys the Ring. Upon his return to the Shire, Frodo finds he is unable to resume his former life, and eventually sails West to the Undying Lands, seeking healing and peace.
