Monkey D. Luffy, in his Gear 4 form, is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates from the popular manga and anime series One Piece. Gear 4 is a technique developed by Luffy during his two-year training period. It utilizes his Devil Fruit ability, the Gomu Gomu no Mi (Gum-Gum Fruit), which grants him the properties of rubber, in combination with Haki, a spiritual energy.

Gear 4, specifically the Boundman variation, sees Luffy inflate his muscles with air and coat them with Busoshoku Haki, making him incredibly bouncy and giving him increased power and speed. He propels himself through the air by bouncing and utilizes compressed air attacks. Other variations include Tankman, focusing on defense and utilizing a large amount of food, and Snakeman, prioritizing speed and unpredictability.

The form significantly enhances Luffy's combat capabilities, allowing him to face powerful opponents such as Doflamingo and Cracker. However, Gear 4 consumes a significant amount of Haki and leaves Luffy vulnerable for a period after its use.
